Madison was released from the hospital after 64 days following her injury. She was on 2 seizure medications, and was having 15-25 seizures a day. Her Mom and Grandma took her to New Orleans for hyperbaric oxygen treatments. Studies have shown this therapy to be effective in improving brain injuries that involve cerebral palsy and seizures. These treatments totally stopped Madison's seizures. We were able to get her off of seizure medications, she has had no seizures in the past 6 years.

Madison now lives with her mother and grandmother. She requires 24 hour care. She has done well, progressing well in therapy until April of 2002 when she developed breathing problems because of her scoliosis. She was in the hospital 5 times, three times on life support to help her breathe. She had to get a tracheostomy, and has done very well since then.

In July 2003, Madison developed more difficulties with breathing, and had to be put on a ventilator to help her breathe adequately. Since then, she has done well, with times when she needs the ventilator and times when she does fine without it. She continues to progress in her therapies.
